Approval for conducting a clinical trial in South Africa is estimated at 12–14 weeks and this period continues to shorten. Our staff here include experienced CRAs and other operational staff with a wide range of therapeutic experience. Key therapeutic areas include: HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, CNS, oncology, gastroenterology, genitourinary and diabetes.
We offer Clinical Development services in Phases I–IV and undertake monitoring of donor-funded work. One of our key strengths is patient recruitment. South Africa has a population of nearly 47 million, providing a large diverse patient population, many of whom have not previously had treatment. We also have many experienced, knowledgeable investigators who can deliver accurate recruitment figures at feasibility stage. Like many other emerging regions, medical treatment in South Africa is generally expensive, so patients are encouraged to enroll in clinical trials to gain access to cutting-edge treatment at no cost.
